Multiple partnerships with Cornell University service clubs, grant-awarding partnerships, and development partnerships have provided project funding, research, and program development support over the past year. In addition, Cornell University and Ithaca College students provide valuable volunteer services, while gaining real-world experience relating to their chosen majors. During this past year two Free Clinic student volunteers have been accepted to medical schools, three have applied to medical schools, and two are preparing to take their MCATs.
The Free Clinic partners with Fidelis Care to bring Certified Application Counselors who can help individuals and families apply for Medicaid managed health insurance. Counselors are available at the Free Clinic during walk-in clinic hours and by appointment to provide convenient access to help with, and educate about health insurance options.
The Ithaca Health Fund further collaborates with other agencies with financial aid services including Alternatives Federal Credit Union, Catholic Charities of Tompkins and Tioga Counties, the Department of Social Services, the Human Services Coalition of Tompkins County, Ithaca Housing Authority, and Tompkins Community Action.
Community Health Education partners with groups and organizations like ¡Cultura! Ithaca, the Congo Square Market organizing committee, the Greater Ithaca Activities Center, No Mas Lagrimas, the Latino Multicultural Association, and Black Lives Matter, and the Human Services Coalition of Tompkins County, and the Northeast Kidney Foundation.
